Zakaj so klasični projekcijski zasloni (HUD) v avtomobilih slabi in kako jih Jaguar Land Rover namerava spremeniti

Ste že vozili avtomobil z vgrajenim projekcijskim zaslonom (HUD – Head-Up Display), ki naj bi izboljšal vašo varnost in udobje, pa vas je bolj motil kot pomagal? Niste edini. Kljub napredni tehnologiji številni projekcijski zasloni v avtomobilih danes voznikom povzročajo več zmede kot koristi. Slaba vidljivost, napačna globinska zaznava in potreba po ponovnem ostrenju vida med cesto in zaslonom so le nekateri od problemov.

Zdaj pa prihaja preobrat. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) v sodelovanju s podjetjem AllFocal Optics razvija popolnoma nov sistem, ki bi lahko na novo definiral, kaj pomeni »pametna vožnja«. Z uporabo holografske tehnologije in projekcijo neposredno na mrežnico voznika želi JLR odpraviti največje slabosti današnjih projekcijskih zaslonov.

Kaj je narobe s klasičnimi projekcijskimi zasloni?

Tradicionalni HUD-i projicirajo informacije na vetrobransko steklo, a njihova uporabnost je omejena:

  • Potrebno je preusmerjanje pogleda: Čeprav naj bi vozniku omogočali, da pogleda “skozi” podatke, mora v resnici oči ponovno ostriti, kar lahko traja nekaj sekund.
  • Slaba vidljivost v sončni svetlobi: Mnogi HUD-i se slabše berejo pri močnejši osvetlitvi.
  • Neoptimalno za uporabnike z očali: Projekcija ni vedno dovolj ostra ali prilagodljiva za slabovidne voznike.
  • Omejena interakcija in prostorska zaznava: Podatki pogosto plavajo v nerealni globini, kar zmede prostorsko orientacijo.

Rešitev: Projekcija neposredno na mrežnico

Tehnologija, ki jo razvija AllFocal Optics, vključuje nanofotonske leče, ki omogočajo projiciranje informacij neposredno na mrežnico. To pomeni:

  • Brez potrebe po ostrenju: Slika je vedno v fokusu, ne glede na to, kam je usmerjen pogled.
  • Prilagodljivo vsem vidom: Sistem naj bi deloval tudi za ljudi z dioptrijo ali drugimi vidnimi okvarami.
  • Povečana varnost: Hitrejša obdelava informacij brez izgube vizualne pozornosti.

Ta tehnologija ne bo le projicirala podatkov o hitrosti, navigaciji in opozorilih, temveč bo omogočila tudi napredne 3D prikaze, ki vozniku neposredno “narišejo” opozorila na cestišče – na primer opozorilo o pešcu, ki prečka cesto.

Povezava z možgani voznika

Ker se informacije projicirajo neposredno na mrežnico, jih možgani zaznajo hitreje. To lahko pomeni znižanje odzivnega časa v nevarnih situacijah, kar je še posebej pomembno pri starejših voznikih, kjer se refleksi s starostjo slabšajo.

Jaguar Land Rover ocenjuje, da bi lahko njihovi novi projekcijski zasloni zmanjšali reakcijski čas v primerih nevarnosti za več kot 30 %.

JLR-jev širši cilj: Pametna kabina prihodnosti

Ta projekt je del širše pobude znotraj Jaguar Land Rover, imenovane Smart Cabin, kjer se raziskujejo tudi:

  • Biometrični senzorji za spremljanje utrujenosti in stresa
  • Prilagajanje klimatizacije in zvoka glede na počutje voznika
  • Avtomatsko nastavljanje sedeža in volana glede na razpoloženje

Cilj? Zmanjšati število nesreč, zmanjšati zastoje in izboljšati počutje med vožnjo.

Ali prihaja nova doba zaslonov?

Če bo tehnologija, ki jo razvijata Jaguar Land Rover in AllFocal Optics, delovala tako, kot obljubljajo, bo to pomenilo revolucijo v avtomobilski industriji. Morda bomo končno dobili HUD, ki resnično pomaga – brez da bi pri tem motil, utrujal oči ali ogrožal varnost.
